What are the intercepts of the line 2x + 4y = 12? A. x-intercept: 6; y-intercept: –3 B. x-intercept: 6; y-intercept: 3 C. x-intercept: –6; y-intercept: 3 D. x-intercept: –6; y-intercept: –3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y intercept is when you are on the y axis and on y axis x is always 0 so put x=0 in equation to get y intercept 2*0 + 4*y = 12 , y = 3 Now do the reverse to get x intercept, on x axis y is always 0 so 2x + 4*0 = 12, x =6
