For questions 5-7, find the coordinates of the vertices of the image of ABCD for each transformation. 5.) reflection across the line x = -4 (2 points) 6.) translation (x,y) → (x – 6, y + 8) (2 points) 7.) reflection across the line y = x (2 points)
5. (-11,0) (-9,-2) (-11,-5) (-15,-1) new x = -4 - (x+4) 6. (-3, 8) (-5, 6) (-3, 3) (1, 7) 7. (0, 3) (-2, 1) (-5, 3) (-1, 7 ) swap x and y
can you explain to me how you got these?
I need to know how to do it not just the answers @aviz
for reflection across x=-4 calculate the x distance of a point from the x=-4 line then the new x will be -4 - (distance) because distance of object in front of mirror equals distance of image behind the mirror also y remains the same. in the second question just subtract values from coordinates coordinates
