Well...think about it...you put a tablet into water to make it carbonated. the water then dissolved the tablet. So the water is the solvent, and the carbon dioxide is the solution.

Yes, water is the solvent. However, it's good to keep in mind that water is not \(always\) the solvent, even though it generally is. There are cases where water is the solute. I don't think there is a universal solvent.

Its D..water is solvent and CO2 is solute. It has been dissolved into the water by increasing the pressure
