Which best represents the motion of air particles as a sound wave passes through them? A. A B. B C. C D. D

Since a sound wave is a longitudinal wave, every particle moves perpendicular to the direction of the wave and eventually returns to it's place, so answer B (where the particle goes up and then down) is the correct one.

Can you help with a few more? @ELB27

Which represents a type of electromagnetic wave? A. slinky wave B. jump rope wave C. ocean wave D. shortwave radio waves i think its c but im not sure @ELB27

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant to put i think its d

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Concerning the question about sound waves, none of the answers is satisfactory. B shows a transverse wave, not a longitudinal wave. A good answer would be: |dw:1401814855621:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the answer! it was D thanks for helping

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup, D as for the first answer,Vincent-Lyon.Fr is correct - I mistook longitudinal waves for Transverse wave (was translating from my first lang.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what was the answer for the first one? sorry my mind is so blank this morning.. @ELB27

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vincent-Lyon.Fr
