Writing a final exam essay about Shrek for my English class. Here's the prompt. I need help planning it out. I have to finish within 2.5 hours.
Prompt 2: In a novel by William Styron, a father tells his son that life “is a search for justice.” Choose a character from a novel or play who responds in some significant way to justice or injustice. Then write a well-developed essay in which you analyze the character’s understanding of justice, the degree to which the character’s search for justice is successful, and the significance of this search for the work as a whole.
I'm confused on which characters respond to injustice and how, though. There's no lawful justice issues here. I almost want to focus on Fiona, but I'm not sure.
Okay, my essay is now about how Shrek is a social justice advocate. I think I'm kind of using this as a way to work out my essay now, though. Oops.
justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society.
In the Dreamworks Production, Shrek plays the role of a social justice advocate in the deeply flawed society, Duloc. He plays a round character whose views on justice and social privileges evolve throughout his adventure. (understanding of justice, the degree to which the character’s search for justice is successful, and the significance of this search for the work as a whole.)
