SIXTH GRADE MATH HELP! medal+fan! The base of a parallelogram is (w + 5)cm. The height is 2 cm less than the base. Find the area of the parallelogram. So obviously I know A=bh, but I am still stuck. I don't know how to work/write-out this problem. Help .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u see how it says the height is 2 less than the base?

OpenStudy (mwhit2101):

Yes, I'm not sure how to get what the height is so I'm stuck there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the height will be w+3 because 5-2 =3

OpenStudy (mwhit2101):

Ok so our equation is (w+5)(w+3) ?
