Andrea has a piece of wood trim that is 80 inches long. She wants to use all of the wood to make two square frames to place mirrors inside of. The dimensions of one of the frames needs to be 1 1/2 times the dimensions of the other frame. Which equation could be used to determine the side length, s, of the smaller frame? 4 × s × 4 × s × 1 1/2 = 80 in. 8 × s × 1 1/2 = 80 in. 4 × s + 4 × s × 1 1/2 = 80 in. (4 × s + 4 × s) × 1 1/2 = 80 in.
