y = -2x^2+5

What about it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the vertex or explain how to please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One method is to find the axis symmetry and then substitute for y point|dw:1401841324689:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Shouldnt the graph be upside down since its a negative 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did u get my message?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

axis of symmetry formula is x=-b/2a so x=-0/2(-2)=0 x=0 put it back into the equation and you get y. Then you have (x,y) of vertex

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was a general case picture, but yes. The parabola would be upside-down in your problem.

Thank you so much, and thank you hmm!!

Ur welcome :)
