what is the amplitude and period of -3cos(2x+(pi/4)). Will fan and give medals! Need help!

I don't really know how to do this but my guess is that the amplitude is pi/4?

Amplitude: Number Out Front ==> 3 It goes up 3 and down 3 over and over and over. Period: Coefficient on x ==> 2pi/(2) = pi
