Am i doing this right? 1. The equation of a plane in space is x + 3y + 2z = 6. a.) Accurately sketch the plane on the set of axes, showing all your calculations below. b.) The three planes of the axes and the plane you have sketched create a triangular pyramid. Find the volume of this pyramid, showing the formula you are using and all calculations below. for this i got X+3y+2z=6 X+3 (0)+2 (0)=6 X=6 0+3y+2 (0)=6 6÷3=2 Y=2 0+3 (0)+2z=6 6÷2=3 Z=3 My graph turned out looking like this though. http://tinypic.com/r/2w7lv61/8

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Yes, this is correct. And I know this figure by half of a tetrahedron. .-. I don't think it's a triangular prism. Anyway, yeah, to figure out the intercepts of an axis, set the other variables equal to 0. c:

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Not a triangular prism, nvm. Thinking badly. >.< I guess you can call it a pyramid lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did i graph it correctly based on the points then?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Yesh. :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay x) how would i go about finding the volume?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

You figured out the intercepts of each axis, plotted it, then connected the dots. ^.^ && Ooo. o.o I'm not sure how to do that without calculus.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Sowwi. :3

thats okay thanks anyways :)
