i need some serious geometery help PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ!!!! what is the similarity ratio of the smaller to the larger similar cylinders?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have a picture?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it wont let me copy it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then what are the side length and base length of the large cylinder and small cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

larger first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

big one has a radius of 18 and the side is 30, the small one has a radius of 12 and the side is 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be 18:12 for the radius' and 30:20 for the side lengths. you need to find the common ratio for both by simplifying.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would i do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well what is the greatest common factor of 18 and 12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you have that divide it with 18 and 12 and you will have the simplest form then do the same for 30:20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you will know you have the right answer if both ratios are the same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the common factor is 6 fo 18:20, 30:20 is 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct. so what are the ratios?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3:3, 3:2
