What is (1.2 × 10^2) × (3 × 10^–5)? A. 3.6 × 10^–4 B. 3.6 × 10^–3 C. 3.6 × 10^3 D. 3.6 × 10^4

Ok so now this makes sense! When multiplying the values altogether, you are adding the exponents for base 10. 1.2 * 3 * 10^(2 + (-5)) = 3.6 * 10^(-3)
