This is just an identity thing. You do not have to find a number value for L. First, you need to isolate the 2L by moving the 2W.. If the 2W is a positive term, you would subtract it from both sides to get P - 2W = 2L. Now to "undo" multiplication, you would divide by the 2. So\[L=\frac{ P-2W }{ 2 }\]And that's it!
