Which statement describing an advantage of Constantinople's location is correct? A. It lay near the geographic center of the Western Roman Empire. B. It was close to the natural resources of Spain, Gaul, and Britain. C. It was situated on an important natural seafaring trade route. D. It did not need to build any defenses against an attack from the sea.
I'm going with C
if we use a process of elimination, @mobb4life305 might be right. Which I am going to agree with him. For A: I doubt they would call Constantinople the "Geographic center of the western Roman empire" then again though, it was the capital of the empire and last until 1456, so not sure on this on. for B. Spain, Gaul and Britain are on the east side of Europe. We are looking at the West. For C: Constantinople had the second largest and sometimes the largest sea trade routes. It challenged Venice all the time. So much that when the Crusades started Venice convinced two of the four main crusades to attack Constantinople instead, to crush there rival. for D. It still needed to build one, but not a strong one considering the fact they were on a large hill. Hope this helps
Thank you for agreeing with me
