i know what happened in each, i just am having a very hard time summarizing. :/

okay well try and put the main key items in.  like for example the Texas Annexation. 
I would put in things like:
The date it happened (1846)
what happened in the time (Texas became a state)
and then how it impacted are expansion (This gave us a large amount of land which brought us even closer to a successful Manifest Destiny)
so it would look something like:
"The Texas Annexation (1846) was when Texas was brought into the United States.  This gave the United States a large piece of land that made us closer to achieving are Manifest Destiny."
