when heat is removed, how does gas become a liquid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not my answer but here ya go A gas becomes a liquid when heat is removed because the molecules do not move around as much, and as such, become much closer together, which brings the substance to a liquid state.

thanks!

No problem. Hey u feel like being Generous with those medals :) ?

When heat is removed, molecules of a substance losses kinetic energy (slow down). Once the kinetic energy of particles is not great enough to overcome the intermolecular forces between particle, the substance will change state.
