The lengths of the legs of a right triangle are 15 cm and 36 cm. What is the length of the hypotenuse? A. 21 centimeters B. 39 centimeters C. 51 centimeters D. 57 centimeters

OpenStudy (radar):

Use your powers of observation. You can eliminate choice A. because the hypotenuse will be the longest side. You can further eliminate Choices C and D, as those two choices are greater or equal to the sum of the two legs and would not form triangles of any kind let alone a right triangle. Now you can still work this out without using logic by the Pythagorean theorem.

I suspect you knew the answer already anyway. Good luck with your studies.

I thought it was b @radar am I right

OpenStudy (radar):

Well if it is not A, C or D, you made the correct choice. good luck in your studies.

OpenStudy (radar):

Did you decide on B using Pythagorean theorem, or did you eliminate A, C, and D by logic? @ikatouni

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by logic @radar
