What is the slope of the graph of 8x – 4y = 11? A.-2 B.2 C.-1/2 D.1/2 @IMstuck @hartnn

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

put the equation in y = mx + b form and the number in the m position will be the slope. 8x - 4y = 11 --- subtract 8x from both sides -4y = -8x + 11 --- divide both sides by -4 y = 2x - 11/4 The number in the m position , the slope , is 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, it is B.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Do you get that? Always solve for y. That will get the equation into slope-intercept form which gives you your slope by definition. Sorry it took me some time to get to you!
