How does the movement of particles of matter change when temperature decreases

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kinetic energy increase I guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The kinetic energy of a gas is always proportional to the temperature that the gas has. Since kinetic energy determines the rate of movement of particles, and since it is proportional to the temperature the gas has, the particles get slowed down as kinetic energy(temperature) decreases.
