SEMESTER REVIEW!!! PLEASE HALP ME!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In a series of rock layers, a geologist finds fossils of a pine trees and oak trees in layers that are 1.0 m and 1.5 m deep. However, in a layer that is 2.0 m deep, he finds fossils of tropical plants and trees. Which explains his findings? A.The continent remained in the tropics. B.The continent shifted toward the tropics. C.The continent shifted toward the mid-latitudes and polar regions. D.The ancient climate remained hot. @Whitemonsterbunny17 @destinistmyers @Burningitdown @blanderos24 Please Help!!!

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I would say C is correct... Because the deeper layers are the older layers, and if the deeper layer was tropical, and the layers closer to the surface are of pine and oak trees, it makes sense that it would have shifted toward the mid-latitudes and polar regions, because those regions include those types of trees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me with some more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am i correct??? Which characteristic is common to all minerals? A.Their chemical composition is similar.<YES B.They are organic material.<NO C.They have a crystalline structure.<-NO D.They are man-made. <-NO

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I would actually say that B is correct. Because minerals are all organic, but each mineral has a different chemical composition.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know but look up..... "Do Minerals Have organic or inorganic material"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. i will go with yours.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I looked it up, and it said there are both organic and inorganic minerals.. The question doesn't really specify what types of minerals, but yeah, I'd still say B is the best choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(you are 3 grades ahead of me. why not get help from a tenth grader :) [moving to 11]) In tropical climates, why is there heavy vegetation but poor soil? A.Heavy rainfall mechanically weathers the soil. B.Chemicals cause the soil to be too acidic. C.There is much chemical weathering that makes the soil poor. D.Heavy rainfall washes essential nutrients from the soil.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Well, this one... Both A and D are correct.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

And LOL!! xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but which one would you pick (pretend u r a 6th grade)

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Then I would choose A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which is the correct explanation for 120°W longitude? A.all positions along a circle that runs perpendicular to the equator and 120° east of the prime meridian B.all positions along a circle that runs perpendicular to the equator and 120° west of the prime meridian C.all positions along a circle that runs perpendicular to the prime meridian and 120° west of the equator D.all positions along a circle that runs parallel to the prime meridian and 120° east of the equator

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Is there a diagram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is all it says

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is just saying which is the correct explination for 120°W longitude

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Oh. Okies lemme google where that is & I'll see if I can figure it out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you got it yet??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Whitemonsterbunny17 ??

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I have no clue on this one. o.O @elementwielder might know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm @ShadowLegendX ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@CassandraR @arabpride @laylalove14 @Logan319 @PiggiePigsFan @texaschic101 @timo86m

@Destinymasha @destinistmyers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Whitemonsterbunny17 give it your best guess

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Well, which one do you think it is? I'm thinking either A or B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya. i was thinking b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe its B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lolol. ok ima take 3 peoples opinions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What type of pressure system is represented by the H on this map, and what kind of weather is a likely result? A.high pressure, cloudy or rainy weather B.low pressure, cloudy or rainy weather C.low pressure, sunny weather D.high pressure, sunny weather

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Okay, so for this one... Those grey things are rain clouds. So, where H is... are there any of those grey rain cloud things?

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

@Legolas(theGirl)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

hey....120 W longitude is : all positions along a circle that runs perpendicular to prime meridian and 120 West of equator

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

wait...that might be wrong...the more I look at it, maybe it is B...sorry bout that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok sorry i am back ok

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Alright, so back to the question... Are there any grey rain cloud areas over area H?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry. lol i just solvbd it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

During which era in earth's history were the first insects? A. Cenozoic B. Paleozoic C. Precambrian D. Mesozoic

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Oh, em I don't remember the specifics of those eras... Have you tried to Google it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Whitemonsterbunny17

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Oh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u still there

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Yeah, uhm I don't know this one... I don't remember the specifics of each era.. Try searching them on google, and maybe you'll find the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk 1 sec. .... I got it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont need anymore help
