A sandwich shop sells both sausage sandwiches and 16 different toppings. How many choices are there for a single sandwich with one topping?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it should just be 16 then....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what I thought but that isn't an answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh because you can get it without sausage so technically then I think it is 16x2 or 32....because u can have one topping with sausage which is 16 possibilities or one topping without sausage which is 16 more possibilities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be 32?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I believe so...does the question say you can get the sandwich without sausage?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I posted the question as it was asked.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk...thats the only possible answer I can think of...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, thank you ^^
