1. The surface area of two similar cylinders are 879 cm2 and 220 cm2. If the volume of the smaller cylinder is 314 cm3, find the volume of the larger cylinder.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Linear Measure Ratio: a:b Area Ratio: a^2:b^2 Volume Ratio: a^3:b^3 "879 cm2 and 220 cm2" 879:220 ==> 29.648^2: 14.8324^2 29.648^3:14.8324^3 ==> 26,060.534:3,263.127 Can you answer the question?

I'm still really confused. Sorry :/

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I found the square roots in order to determine a and b. I used a and b to determine a^3 and b^3. This gives the ratios of the volumes.
