Solve for h. V = lwh I think it's h = V/lw
@tkhunny
That is not quite correct, although it is becoming more and more popular in textbooks. Personally, I continue to object to it. The Order of Operations wants us to do things of the same preference in left-to-right order. If we do this strictly, you have just written h = (V/l)*w and this is not what you intend. If we forget about that rule and just do what we want, hoping people will understand, then you have written h = V/(lw), which is exactly and unambiguously correct. In my personal opinion, it is incorrect without the parentheses. Not everyone agrees with this assessment.
oh, okay. i just copied how it looked from my test
Like I said, it is becoming more popular. I am currently reading a text book on statistics - point estimation. The author liberally uses the notation without the parentheses. I find it annoying.
