What is the equation of the circle with center at (-3, 0) and diameter 20

geerky42 (geerky42):

general equation of circle is \((x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2\), where point (h,k) is center and r is radius

geerky42 (geerky42):

we are already given center, but we need radius. do you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Radius would be half of diameter so 10

geerky42 (geerky42):

Yep, so r = 10, h = -3, k = 0. plug in these values to equation i gave you. simplify it a little bit then you are done
