experimental probability of an event is the ratio of the number of times an event occurs to the total number of trials. P (not blue) = 20 + 9 + 11 = 40 -- total of all other colors besides blue 50 -- total number of trials 40 to 50 or 40/50 = 0.8 ================ lands on 2 five times -- number of times event occurs = 5 total number of trials = 20 5 to 20 or 5/20 = 1/4 = 25%
