I have a quick question for you... If i want to find the gradient of the following lines: Perpendicular line, normal line and tangent, what would the gradients be for each. E.G, i think that for the tangent, the gradient is -1/m... Please help ASAP as i have an exam tomorrow... Thanks in advance...

OpenStudy (experimentx):

i think you find tangent and gradient for curve rather than for lines.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how would you find the gradient of the curve...

OpenStudy (experimentx):

gradient is solve ... tangent is line. for gradient just take dy/dx ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But isn't it different for the different type of line/curve that you want to make...

OpenStudy (experimentx):

of course it is ... the gradient depends on your curve. the tangent depends on gradient as well as and given point.
