OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solids and liquids are known as the condensed states of matter because: A.their densities are much higher than that of gases they produce condensation when cooled B.they produce condensation when cooled C.they are not at all compressible

OpenStudy (ciarán95):

Condensed states of matter are solids and liquids - states in which the atoms or molecules are fairly close together and their behavior is determined (at least in part) by the attractions between them. (C.) is true, that solids and liquids are generally not compressible as the molecules which they compose of have no further region to squeeze into if we try. However, in terms of describing the close attractions of the molecules to each other, (A.) is also true, as a gas's particles are free to move about over an infinitely large area if allowed (low density), while the more closely packed structure of solids and liquids do not allow for this (higher density).
