Vectors: Consider two vectors A⃗ and B⃗ and their re- sultant A⃗ + B⃗ . The magnitudes of the vectors A⃗ and B⃗ are, respectively, 13.6 and 7.7 and they act at 140◦ to each other. Find the magnitude of the resultant vector A⃗ + B⃗ .

I don't know why, but I don't really know how to start this question.

OpenStudy (phi):

There are two ways to do this problem. 1) break vectors A and B into their x,y components. then Cx= Ax + Bx, Cy= Ay+By the magnitude of the resultant vector C will be sqr(Cx^2 + Cy^2)

OpenStudy (phi):

2) to add vectors, use "tail to head" and draw the figure |dw:1402005804769:dw|
