oops. i read the question wrong.

BG is 1/3 of BE
and GE is 2/3 of BE because of the defintion of centroid

so from the angle to the centroid is 2/3 the entire segment, whereas from the side to the centroid is just 1/3 of the entire segment.

thats why BG=3 and GE=6
