PLEASE HELP WILL GIVE MEDAL! the angles opposite the congruent sides of an isosceles triangle are congruent. Find the value of x in the triangle. show all your work.

|dw:1402026906747:dw| because its an isoscels triangle. what do all three angles of a triangle add up to?
Ummm i dont understand?
ok... do you understand why that other angle is also 70?
because both angles are congruent?

Well, in a triangle all 3 sides will add up to 180 degrees. So, because 2 of the sides are the same, that means that the angles would also have to be the same. So what two sides add up to 110 degrees (180 - 70 (Given))?
so thats the answer?
Look at what I wrote, I said that because the two sides are equal in sides mean that they will be the same angle. So because we have 70 degrees that is given, the other two angles would have to be the exact same number and add up to 110 degrees, because Side1 + Side2 + 70 Degrees (Given) = 180 degrees. so, do basic math and tell me what it is.
so the answer is 210
lol... no... How did you get 210? The full triangle has to add up to 180 degrees. Because one side is 70 degrees, that means 180-70 = 110degrees left to distribute Because there is 110 degrees left to figure out each side, since the two slash marks represent equal side, that means the other two angles also have to be the same number so 110/2 = 55 degrees Both are 55 degrees 55 + 55 + 70 = 180. Simple math dude.
Ohhh okkkk thanks!
|dw:1402057530195:dw| 1)The star indicates that the the angles of A and C should be the same since it is the property of an isosceles triangle. 2) You must also know that all the sides of any triangle should add up to 180 degrees (a + b + c = 180 deg) 3) Time to solve! b = 180 - a - c = 180 - 70-70 = 40 degrees, voilà your x! :D
