OpenStudy (cwrw238):

there are 6 faces altogether 2 with dimensions 12*6 2 ... 12*7 2 ... 6*7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wat exactly do i do with that

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

work out the area of each face for example: area of first 2 faces:- each one has area 12 times 6 = 72 Total 144 now do the same for the other 4 faces and add up all 6 areas to get total surface area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did it is the answer A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i want the lateral area

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

OK sorry - i got confused - I misread the question what do you mean exactly by the lateral area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The lateral area is the surface area of a 3D figure, but excluding the area of any bases.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

right - so it includes the four vertical faces only ?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

in which case the area is 2*12*6 + 2*12*7

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

= 312 sq ins
