HELP I WILL FAN AND MEDAL The measures of two angles of a triangle are 36° and 71°. Find the measure of the third angle, and classify the triangle according to its angles. A. 199°, acute B. 199°, right C. 73°, acute D. 73°, right
well we know that a triangle has 180 degrees right?
hint : you dont need to do any calculations for this problem
use this : sum of angles in a triangle is 180
\(\large\color{blue}{ \rm 180-(71+36)=?}\)
so what we do to find out is the total sum of the two degrees and determine if it shoter than 90 = acute, larger than 90 = obtuse, and is 90 = right triangle
just for description...this is ridiculously easy ...sum of angles should be 180..sum of these two becomes 36+71=107...okay...now do 180-107
In light of that information, which two options you can strike off ?
OK
you can easily write off three wrong answers...
add \[36 + 71\]
then subtract 180 and then determine if it shoter than 90 = acute, larger than 90 = obtuse, and is 90 = right triangle
that equal 73
@SolomonZelman
so obviously it is not A or B
B and D gone as for a right triangle 90 degree is a must...A gone because in a triangle you cant have 199 degree
107 @Muzzack
this is C
yes now 180 - 107
so C
i think C
so im right
