When an electric current is passed thought water during the process of electrolysis, two gases are formed. One gas ha a boiling point of -183*C and the other has a boiling point of -253*C. Has a phyical change or a chemical change occurred? Explain.

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

physical*

OpenStudy (somy):

that would be chemical change because H2O broke down to H2 and O2 gas

OpenStudy (somy):

or whatever gas that it is as u see from their boiling point they are different, meaning the previous compound broke down to something else it would be physical change if the chemical composition did not change after having a physical change

OpenStudy (somy):

i hope u get it :)
