mitosis is cell division for growth, repair and replacement, so whatever the diploid species number (e.g. 46 chromosomes in humans) that would be the same number in the daughter cells. You only get the haploid number (e.g. 23 chromosomes in humans) with meiosis - reduction division. Sorce:amphibian
