Triangle ABC is congruent to triangle DFE. Find x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@eric_d :)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty sure it's 23.

OpenStudy (eric_d):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you sooo muchh!! would you please help me with another onee?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Both triangles are congruent. I need to find x :)!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok give me a second

OpenStudy (eric_d):

16

OpenStudy (eric_d):

Am I rite @gooberz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

33.7 something...

OpenStudy (eric_d):

can u show the working

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um, 16 * 3=48-1 equals 47 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well 33.7*3 = 101. 1 etc. so -1 would then give you 100 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It might be something like 33.75 or other. @tif49 is this a choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are no multiple options. Only an empty box I have to fill :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you think the answer is 33.75? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, let me make sure. I don't know the exact decimal at this time, but take out the .05 and it should be very close. I will give you the exact in just a second...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's actually exactly 33. 100-1 =99/3 =33!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANKYOUU SO MUCHH!! would you PLEASE help me with another question? I really need your help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure, what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thankyouuu!!! These two triangles are congruent and I need to find x and y

OpenStudy (eric_d):

x=3/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so I can't read the number(or letter) right next to 4x-y. What does it say?

OpenStudy (eric_d):

should be S

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, makes sense. Now let me figure this out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to the right of 4x-y there is a T

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wups, I meant the left @tif49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=1 and y=3. However, because of the info given, it could keep going. x=2, y=7 etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just in case "S" is 5, I will give you a more subtle answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No that is an "S" :) you are very smart hahaha thankyouu soo much for your help I truly need it!! Would you please help me with more? I would truly appreciate it, and I can give you a medal, but I am not sure how to do that hahaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh no problem, any time :) Sure!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thankyouuu!!! These two triangles are similar. I need to find x :) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X+8=X+14 -x 2x=22 /2 X=11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:O thankssss!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pleassee help me with moreee :) :)??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah no problem :) Sure I can do only 1 more though. I have to take a test :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thankss! These two triangles are similar and I need to find side VS

OpenStudy (eric_d):

12? @gooberz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think it's 12, because remember, it gives us 20 as the length. So it can't be anything less than 20. I think it's 28, I'm not sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

28? should I write that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe, give me a second.

OpenStudy (eric_d):

Maybe 32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My best guess is 28 @tif49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you so much to both of you! GREAT help, very thankful!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah no problem girl. And by the way, what math class are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tif49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Algebra 2 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cool :)
