Solve -2x2 - 16x - 44 = 0. x equals negative 8 plus or minus I square root of 6 x equals negative 8 plus or minus 2i square root of 6 x equals negative 4 plus or minus i square root of 6 x equals negative 4 plus or minus 2i square root of 6
i think you could simplify it by dividing by a common factor :)
I note that all of the coefficients of this quadratic equation are even. Why not simplify the work of solving this equation by factoring out the common factor? Next, decide which method of solution you'd prefer to use: 1) factoring; 2) completing the square; 3) graphing (and so on; there are other methods besides these).
alright
you could always go full quadratic i know some people prefer it but i dont advise it in this equation
Sweetburger: I assume you mean "you could also use the quadratic formula."
@d-jay: would you please divide every term of the given equation by -2? What do you get by doing this?
