Solve: |x - 3| < 8 A. -8 < x < 11 B. x < -5 and x > 11 C. x < 8 D. -5 < x < 11

ok so same thing here, make your two equations x-3 <8 and x-3>-8 add 3 to both sides for each equation and you get x<11 and x>-5 so D is your answer

that makes alot of sense thank you again i really appreciate it ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup sure thing :) remember though that when you make your two equations, you have to flip the <> sign for the second one because youre dealing with the negative value of the other side of the absolute value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i havent been doing that haha thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure
