What is the exact value of the expression the square root of 486. - the square root of 24. + the square root of 6.? Simplify if possible.
2the square root of 2. 2the square root of 6. 6the square root of 2. 8the square root of 6.
\[\large \sqrt{486} - \sqrt{24} + \sqrt{6}\] we can ask ourselves..."what times what = 486?" and what times what = 24?
I'll give you a hint for this one...\(\large \sqrt{6}\) plays a bit role
\[\large 81 \times 6 = 486\] \[\large 4 \times 6 = 24\] so what we can write..is \[\large \sqrt{81 \times 6} - \sqrt{4 \times 6} + \sqrt{6}\]
what is the square root of 81? ...that is 9....what is the square root of 4? well that is 2....so now we have \[\large 9\sqrt{6} - 2\sqrt{6} + \sqrt{6}\] This can then be simplified into \(\large 8\sqrt{6}\)
