Which year is recorded to have the most highest recorded temperature in this century and what was or is the most maximum recorded temperature of that year?

Look into the temperatures in Death Valley and the Middle East.  The highest recoded ever have been in those areas.  Not sure which has the highest for the century, but I know which has the record for since we started taking temperatures and logging them.
