if there is an equal sign in the problem, then the circle will be closed
if there is no equal sign, then the circle will be open
if it is less then (<), then the shading goes to the left
if it is greater then (>), then the shading goes to the right

now lets look at our problem...
-x > 3 --- we do not want x positive, so lets multiply this by -1...but remember, when multiplying/dividing by a negative, the inequality sign changes.

-x > 3 ---> (-1)
x < -3

no equal sign, so it is an open circle....less then means shading to the left, so open circle on -3, and shading to the left.....answer A
