List three parts of the lymphatic system and their functions.

1. Lymph nodes - areas where lymph fluid is filtered and and immune cells (primarily B cells) are stored to help attack bacteria and viruses.
2. Lymph vessels - transport excess cellular fluid, fats, and proteins back into the blood stream. They rely on the movement of skeletal muscles for circulation.
3. Thymus - hormone gland that secretes Thymosin, which stimulates pre-T cells to mature for immune responses.
