Hey Ambassadors! Tell us how it has been!
We are going to get a new cohort of Ambassadors soon. So, I would like some honest opinions from other Ambassadors that people can look at. SnuggyLad had a lot to say about his time in the program: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/5314f049e4b0594f90a9103f What has being an Ambassador meant to the rest of you?
I know some of you are on vacation, but I would like to hear from as many as possible. @♪Chibiterasu @AkashdeepDeb @Ashleyisakitty @bakonloverk @beccaboo333 @Compassionate @JA1 @Jamierox4ev3r @jigglypuff314 @Lena772 @Linda3 @math&ing001 @MathLegend @mathslover @ParthKohli @poopsiedoodle @shrutipande9
Well, being an Ambassador I feel has made me a bit more responsible when it comes to OpenStudy or real life. When I'm on here, I have it be my goal to help as many users out as possible when I am on here. If I ever see a conflict, I try to help it out as much as possible before getting a moderator involved.. The only thing I really see for a downfall is not being able to work out the chats as well :/ It seems to be that more ambies are in the chats than mods.. Which kind of makes it hard to do anything if no mods respond. Either way, being an ambassador is great! Can't wait to help out the newbies c:
Hi, Well, for starters, I've been an Ambassador since 2012, which is a little over 2 1/2 years, almost 3! In the beginning I was a bit nervous. But to be frank, I enjoyed looking at my pretty "A." People recognize me as an Ambassador and someone that upholds morals and positive behavior, which makes me a little happy. You know, when people come to you on OpenStudy or go out of there way to get your opinion. I wouldn't say my Ambassadorship on OpenStudy initially gave me any (if little) experience in the real world, or taught my applicable skills. However, in the late 2013 - early 2014 revision, a whole new platform of content and material was released by the new Ambassador Team Leaders (Eric, Blues, and so forth). This is when the real-time training and assignments started - such as conflict resolution and evaluations. A big step up from the previous program under BostonBlue's jurisdiction. (I love you, Boston.) Being an Ambassador has given me additional opportunities with OpenStudy, such as internships and chances to beta-test and discuss updates before they're released to the public. It has allowed me to put my knowledge and experience forth to help improve OpenStudy with the Administration. Being apart of the staff is like being apart of a family - of course, we will fight and have our disagreements, and we may even get scuffed up here-and-there, that's normal. But in the end we're all working toward the same goal - World Domination.
Being an ambi is awesome xD I get flooded with help requests whenever I go online now, and even sometimes when I'm not online >.> But really, it's made me a better person, and even affected how I act outside of this virtual world. I think it has shocked some people in my life how I've gone from "that quiet girl in the corner" to the bouncy happy energetic instructor. I even got placed in charge of my flute section in marching band recently and I think I might have scared some of the freshmen with my enthusiasm ;) It is such an honor to be an Ambassador <3 and it has taught me so much on how to better express myself and help people to my full potential ^_^ You've all become my extended family :D <3
Hello, First of all, I would like to thank @Preetha - For believing in me @cshalvey - For supporting me throughout my journey .. I miss you! :'( @karatechopper - KC ! Thanks for the ambassador idea. ( Thanks to Saifoo too) @Bostonblue - For such a great step in the Ambassador Program. She is really a great hard worker. @E.mccormick - You handled the things quite well. @kayne - Yep! The had of the Ambassador Program. You're awesome! :-) @hartnn @thomaster @blues - For supporting me and for such a great training ! (If I missed someone, then I am sorry) \(\bf{Ambassadorship} = \left \{ \begin{matrix} \color{blue}{\bf{Responsibility}} \\ \color{green}{\bf{Hardwork}} \\ \color{green}{\bf{Expectations}} \\ \color{purple}{\bf{Teamwork}} \\ \color{Brown}{\bf{Sincerity }} \end{matrix} \right \} \) The post of an ambassador comes with some great responsibilities and expectations. Nah! Its not easy to become an ambassador. Being an ambassador gave me several feelings, when I was in 2012, there were a lot of ambassadors, and at that time, there were no training sessions etc. But, this time, there are limited ambassadors and ambassadors were \(\bf{trained}\) . This was one of my greatest opportunities I ever had. I got to know about several things, like building the communication skills, managing things well, leading some programs, attending meeting sessions, being nice ... These all affected my real life too. Now, I have got a chance to lead the 100 students of my school in several competitions. That didn't happen earlier. This clearly shows, being an ambassador, has been a great opportunity and honor for me. I love the way come up to me , and ask so innocently , "Sir, why was I suspended?" :P I got to know the outer world from sitting on a chair ...! I This new ambassador Program has been a great success for OpenStudy as well as for us. I have a lot ideas for who should be the new ambis. \(\bf{Ambassadorship} \quad \color{blue}{\textbf{Requires}} \quad \color{green}{Teamwork}\) Yeah. The most important thing being "Teamwork" . There are several more things, but Teamwork is what which makes us strong and bonded. Moreover, I got some great friends because of this Ambassador Program, they all are nice, and I am glad to have them as my friends. Thank you OpenStudy for that too! :) \(\bf{Ambassadors} = \color{blue}{\textbf{Family}} \) And this Family is going to have new members ! That's great. Ambassadors Rock! Mathslover
wow
It has been an awesome journey so far! firstly i would like to thank @preetha and her team for giving me this opportunity. this ambiship has definitely made me more responsible towards openstudy. i have learnt a lot during the training process. i had never thought i would watch videos about how to communicate and other stuff, but thanks to @e.mccormick i watched them, read about stuff and increased my knowledge about it. and yes that training helped me. i love the way things are discussed here, every small thing is discussed and every opinion is noted, given importance. we ambis have started to work as a team which is so great..because teamwork is the thing that teaches u a lot. so in toto this is a total fun-based learning experience! thanks once again!
wow
mathslover has tagged people in one of my "Want to join" posts, and this is a good idea. If you know someone you think would fit in, give thema tag in any of those posts or send them a message and talk to them about it. It will give them a chance to think about if they would like to apply.
I want to join

ok
My experience as an OpenStudy Ambi has been pretty good so far. It has made me feel more responsible and i feel i have more of a purpose on OS now. After re-applying and rereading the C.O.C. and the TaC, i feel i have a better understand of the rules and obligations of not only an OpenStudy Ambassador, but also of an OpenStudy user. With all the training we had to complete, i do feel it has made all of the ambi's more...understanding. All in all, the OS Ambassador Program is a good one to be apart of. :)
Prepare Yourselves, The Lengthy Post Is Coming I remember when I first got on OpenStudy, I didn't really care much for the website, nor for it's morals or values as to not cheat and such but over the course of time I came to posses an extended high regard for this website, high regard for it's vision, high regard for it's community, and high regard for it's future, and when I saw the opportunity to become an Ambassador I thought to myself "I can do something to make that future come true", however small, or insignificant that may be but the beauty of it all is how we all come together with a vision, and we make it come true. Now for the most part I haven't really done anything at all sadly, not as an ambassador, nor as a member, and for this I'm partly saddened because I could do more to help this community and OpenStudy, so I guess my point here is that being an Ambassador for me hasn't really meant much because of my own lack of persistence, but the idea of an Ambassador itself is something different altogether, once you get past the notion that you want it for the "A" you begin to see that it's a way to harness skills that allow you to guide people, to help others, and to collaborate on a large scale. Ambassadorship for anything but particularly OpenStudy can help you in the long run by exposing you to wonderful mentors, too many to name. And by giving you colleagues that will always be ready to help you and and make you achieve the best "you" that you can. It's not so much a job, but rather a coming-of-age for all that take it for what it is, of which I have not sadly. But I've "turned a new chapter" in my life per say and I hope this can also include a better undertaking of my Ambassadorship roles and my vision to help Openstudy with the skills I have.
Also,if the context wasn't enough to make this clear this also marks the end of my time away from Openstudy and I now am full-time dedicated to it ;)
JA1 - You have been a great ambassador yet. Now, as you are going to be active again, I look forward for your awesomeness to come back and rock OpenStudy!
Your kindness is accepted thankfully. I'm glad you see good in my past :)
it's been alright

@koikkara "Where Can I Find Amby Selection/Training Program ???" I am not entirely sure what you mean by this question? any information pertaining to the ambassadors would most likely be in the Ambassador's Group, which you are currently in... "Should I fill Form again to become An Amby ??" I suppose it is better safe than sorry, if anything one can ask one of the mods of the ambi team about it (which includes e.mccormick blues thomaster hartnn ) "Can This Bad Boy Become An Amby ??" Ambassadors are made up of people who are willing to follow all terms and rules of OpenStudy, if being a "bad boy" violates that, then the chances of one becoming an ambassador decreases. "Are There Chances for People Like me ?? To Become An Amby ??" The chances of one becoming an ambassador increase with displays of leadership and following rules, and the chances decrease when rules are broken or negative behavior is noted. "Any "Recommendations" Needed For Amby Selection ??" no recommendations are "needed" to become an ambassador. I, jigglypuff, became an ambassador without any. of course people can recommend you via thomaster's suggestion box http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/5377b7d5e4b0ba022d36af38
