I need calc 1 help

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Can someone explain this to me?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I understand av. velocity, but where are they adding the sin and cos???

hartnn (hartnn):

average velocity \(\Large = \dfrac{ds}{dt} = \dfrac{s_2-s_1}{t_2-t_1}\) s = displacement

hartnn (hartnn):

its like finding the slope

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Right. But am I failing to understand where the sin and cos are added?

hartnn (hartnn):

i don't understand your question "where are they added" means?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

s = s(t) = 3 sin πt+ 5 cos πt. Where is that in the answers?

hartnn (hartnn):

you're plugging 't' with numbers!

hartnn (hartnn):

\(\dfrac{s(2) -s(1)}{2-1}\)

hartnn (hartnn):

whats s(2) = ...? plug in t=2
