To be honest, I think there are different methods in making a research paper, causing variety in the steps int he process. So I think you should look in your lesson or textbook. :))

So basically it is saying the first step is choosing your topic. It says to do this you have to ask yourself questions, pick something you love, stay original, get advice, and don't be afraid of changing your topic. :)

The first step for me is I have an idea of a topic but not the topic itself. Then I go and research things I'm interested in. This helps me get more specific. So say you want to do a project on dogs well then reasearch everything about dogs you could do a breed, animal abuse, fighting, outlawing pitbulls in certain cities. Then you have your topic and its not as broad as just dogs.
