OpenStudy (anonymous):

A.\[\pi .inches^{2}\] B.\[4\pi. inches ^{2}\] C.\[8\pi. inches ^{2}\] D.\[16\pi. inches ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (triciaal):

area of a circle is pi r^2 where r is the radius 8pi = pi^r^2 gives r^2 = 8 then r = 2rt2 the radius of the big circle is twice the radius of the small circle 2 times 2rt 3 - 4rt2 area of the big circle = pi (4rt2)^2 = 32 pi area of shaded - area of big circle minus area of 2 small circles 32pi -2 *8pi = 16 pi i got D
