A landscaper charges a one-time fee of $70 plus $45 for each hour on the job. If t is the number of hours on the job and f is the total fee for the work done, then the variables are related by the equation f = 45t + 70. Which variable is the independent variable? t f theres no realtionship
The independent variable influences or changes the dependent variable. Have a try now :)
ok, but i dont know what that really is...
Alright, I'll walk you through this. Have you done science? There's where you learn about independent and dependent variables. Science and maths are very similar, I'm going to use Science as a example to help you understand. Say, we have a tree. We're trying to see how long it takes to wilt without water in different environments. The time to wilt would be the dependant variable, as it depends on the environment (independant variable) which we can change. Does that make more sense? I don't want to just give you the answer :) Tell me what you don't get and I'll try explain it.
