A circular pan has a diameter of 8 inches. What is the exact area of the pan? A. 16π square inches B. 8π square inches C. 64π square inches D. 256π square inches

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

Well, the formula for the area of a circle is \[A = 2(\pi)r^2\]

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

And you are given the diameter, from which you can find the radius, and then you plug it into the formula, and voilà!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Incognlto the formula is A=(π)r2

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

@khurramshahzad Dude. No answers. Seriously. Help the asker get there, don't give it to them.

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

And yeah, that's the formula. ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so correctly tell him now that how answers come out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i got it .. sorry for the answer

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

No worries; I explained further up how to get the answer, but I'll say again for clarification, from the given diameter the radius can be obtained by dividing the diameter by two, and the result can be plugged into the given formula to obtain the area.
