Will give medals!!!! How Antibiotics Work and the Potential for Antibiotic Resistance
Antibiotics effect some aspects of growth and metabolism of the targeted organism This is what mainly is effected by antibiotics -synthesis of bacterial walls -protein synthesis (meaning effecting transcription or translation) -plasma membrane function -enzyme action (for example denature or inhibit it)
Antibiotic Resistance Mostly the reason it is developed is because the course of antibiotic treatment is not done fully meaning if the doctor tells you to take this antibiotic for your disease for 20 days but you already felt way better after 15 days of taking this antibiotic, so you stopped taking it just because you felt better this is the reason you stop taking antibiotic earlier then prescribed thus that means NOT ALL pathogens (disease causing organism) are killed, meaning some survived (though is was harmed) (meaning were about to die but did not) this antibiotic attack and you stopped taking that antibiotic so now this organism will recover and since now it knows the way this antibiotic that you took attacks thus it develops resistance against that attack so you can't take that same antibiotic again because now it will not work.
