Giving out medals...! Which of the following statements is a MAD goal? I want to play professional football for my favorite team after I finish college. I want to reach a skeet shooting score of 85 percent at the next competition. I want to beat the county record for the 100-meter hurdles this year. I want to catch 65 fish while camping with my friends next week.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it would be the statement that is not achievable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take a look at this which provides examples. http://strengthrunning.com/2014/05/run-your-fastest-race-ever-with-this-one-weird-old-trick/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its the first but that really depends on if you play for you college team

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would go with the last one because that sounds to me like it might be difficult to make that goal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

65 fish is a lot... average catch might be 5-10 if you are in a good fishing area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it dosnt state how long the trip is for camping though so it could just be about 9 fish everyday or 60 in one day and if you spend alot of time fishing it could be achivable, your odds would be better than being a professional football player

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is not a lot of given information... playing for a pro football team is usually a dream

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah so i would say its the first one because its a very hard thing to do

OpenStudy (mayaal):

Thanks alot

OpenStudy (mayaal):

@jtryon can u tell me one more?

OpenStudy (mayaal):

Which of the following statements is a MAD goal? I will beat the county wrestling champion in my weight division in my first match. I will dance for 300 hours this month to prepare for the end-of-the-year recital. I will swim the length of the pool five times without taking a breath. I will improve my batting average by two points before the end of the season.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If we go by common sense, I think it is unlikely that you will do choice C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would be almost impossible to swim the length of a pool five times without a breath

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To me that is a mad goal

OpenStudy (mayaal):

Yes and I think its the last goal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The last one is attainable. It's not too unreasonable either

OpenStudy (mayaal):

Yeah so its the last one right?that what i think too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's the one before the last

OpenStudy (mayaal):

MAD Goal are not that u think they r... :P

OpenStudy (mayaal):

MAD Goal: Measurable, Attainable, and Deadline-driven.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, then it would be the last one

OpenStudy (mayaal):

Thanks for ur help
