OpenStudy (hang254):

Let u = <7, -3>, v = <-9, 5>. Find 4u - 3v.

myininaya (myininaya):

ok u=<7,-3> do you know how to find 4u or 4<7,-3>?

OpenStudy (hang254):

no, I'm not very good with this topic at all

myininaya (myininaya):

this is going to blow your mind but this pretty easy to do example: pretend we have u=<1,-2> and we are asked to find 5u 5u=5<1,-2>=<5(1),5(-2)>=<5,-10>

OpenStudy (hang254):

alright

myininaya (myininaya):

so can you evaluate 4<7,-3> now?

OpenStudy (hang254):

4u-3v=4<7,-3>, -3<-9,5> = <4(7), 4(-3)> = <28,-12> -3(-9), -3(5) = <27, -15>

OpenStudy (hang254):

so it's <55, -27>

myininaya (myininaya):

yep that is very good <28,-12>+<27,-15> =<28+27,-12-15> =<55,-27>

OpenStudy (hang254):

Thank you!

myininaya (myininaya):

np you did it all
